I resigned from my job only to received a letter two weeks later informing me I had been dismissed on gross misconduct charges. I was serving my three month notice period, at home, as requested by the Company Secretary. The letter detailed two events for the dismissal and attached my P45 and a cheque for sums owed to the date of dismissal. I know my employers often use the services of an HR legal company, however, they do not seem to have stuck to the process or proceedure as detailed in the company handbook. Is there a law that allows them to do this and will prevent me claiming unfair dismissal. The two events used as justification for my gross misconduct are minor and have not been discussed with me or riased as an issue in any way. I have had no meetings or contact with my company since my resignation. Thanks
