Hi Guys I am a HR Manager for a large supermarket responsible for 550 colleagues and 22 managers. Moving from a trading manager to HR 2 years ago, i would like to gain some professional qualifications (i always regretted leaving school at 16 with 8 o levels) and the company will only pay £1500 per year. CIPD seems to cost about £4000 per year for 4 or 5 years, which i don't have. Do you guys know of a cheaper route or an alternative more cost effective qualification i can study. Thanks for your help Andy |

| Andy, it does seem a tad pricey but I wonder where you're looking for your information. Here's a link for the qualifications details on the CIPD website: http://www.cipd.co.uk/mandq/ which may provide some more welcome info. Also there is a 'phone number to call for advice on the best route forward - 020 8612 6203 during office hours and also consider flexible learning or attending an accredited CIPD centre which is the route I took. Hopefully some of this will prove to be useful but one final thing to consider: whilst I would agree this is a costly move I firmly believe it is an investment in you individually so don't let the cost completely put you off. Do let us know what you eventually decide, I'd be very interested in an update. :-) | |||
