i have recently had an employee have a fit at work and they are looking to return. they have had to surrender their driving licence so can no longer drive therefore no longer fulfill the njob role. i do not wish to let the employe go but wish to utilise in another role at less money. can i do this?

Hi, this will depend on the employment contract you have and the T&C's (the problem being the reduced salary) Talk with your company solicitor. One option is to make the alternative opportunity known to the individual - say what the salary is and ask them if they wish to apply for it - dodgy but if presented as an option and they take it without any 'push' from you - they are not likely to complain are they? |
