As the world of training is yet again changing with BILD recently becoming a new institute in the sector and TrainerBase registering as a Trade Association.

Are these changes for the better or worse for the training sector?

Along with this change there also appears to be more and more qualifications for trainers including:

CIPD - CTP - Certificate in Training Practice

ITOL - Cert & Diploma in Training

Matrix 42 - ELF - Excellent Learning Facilitation

TrainerBase - CLP - Certified Learning Practitioner

Training Foundation - TAP - Trainer Assessment Programme

Plus a myriad of trainer standards from the sector skills councils and other public sector contract managers.  Are any of these sustainable in a commercial environment?

Are some better for internal trainers? Are some more suited for external trainers or consultants? Are they just names/ brands without value
