My employer has sent me a letter stating that due to a restructure my role will be redundant at the end of June and they have offered me another role. I am on maternity leave until the end of October.

I met with our HR Director and he has said that they will ringfence this new role for me and that there is no rush for me to make a decision about returning.  He also went on to say (unprompted) that he felt that the new role could not be carried out on a part time basis - although he appreciated that legally he would have to review any request that was made.  I have made no formal request to him to return to work on a part time basis.

I have since discovered that this "ringfenced" role has been advertised on our internal job board.

As the restructure is effective from the end of June, do I need to make a decision before then?

I also have two other outstanding queries with them as they paid my maternity pay at a rate that did not take into consideration a pay rise that I received before I went on mat leave, plus they are trying to tell me that I have only accrued 1.85 days of holiday during my 6 months of additional maternity leave.

I would appreciate any advice available.
