What do other companies do about Bank Holidays which fall during a period of ordinary maternity leave (where the employee is being paid only statutory maternity pay)? Does anyone give full pay for these days (topping up the SMP to full pay)? We have an employee who will be absent over the August Bank holiday and Christmas period, so is missing out on four Bank Holidays. Is there any legal right to be paid for these days, or is it up to the discretion of the employer? Many thanks for any help you can offer. |
