Can employees be forced to take on another role within  the company when employees at another site have been trained within the last month to do their job The business is a virtual operation so any workstream can be carried out at any location, therefore there is no apparent justification for the decision which was taken without information and consultation even though a local agreement is in place. Also the work which these employees are being told they will now be doing  is what they did  3 years ago before being transferred to their current role and the remainder of there colleagues in the same role being given voluntary redundancy as the company isisted the job would be no more.
