A number of women at our office have been denied holiday pay/entitlement at the end of their maternity leave because HR have said that they [the women] did not make the request in time (whatever that means!). I had assumed that the onus is on the employer to let staff know their rights and not rely on ignorance to avoid paying what the women are rightfully entitled to. Any guidance much appreciated.
