British Airways has sacked a second employee for organising wildcat strikes at Heathrow Airport last summer. Last month another employee was dismissed for his part in the unofficial secondary action during August, taken in support of the sacked Gate Gourmet staff. Both workers, together with a third, were found guilty of gross misconduct after an internal investigation. The third employee was given a final written warning, suspended without pay for one month and banned from staff air travel privileges. All three employees worked at the airline’s ground support unit at Heathrow, which is made up of baggage handlers, loaders and bus drivers.
