Bus company votes to strike on 14 June

Union
members at the Mitcham Belle bus company in London are to strike for union
recognition for 24 hours on 14 June after an overwhelming vote in favour of
action.

RMT
members voted 69 to four in favour of strike action following the company’s
refusal to negotiate with the RMT.

Mitcham
Belle runs bus services around Croydon and Richmond into central London.

RMT
general secretary Bob Crow said: "The sooner this company realises that it
can no longer simply dictate terms and conditions to its workforce, the sooner
we can begin to build sensible industrial relations.”
