Chartered Certified Accountant student numbers up over 10%

City accountants are more in demand than ever, according to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

ACCA, which has 140,000 members worldwide, has seen 6.5% annual growth in membership, with student numbers increasing by 10.4% from 366,000 to 404,000, writes City AM.

Helen Brand, ACCA chief executive, said: “This healthy growth shows that the finance profession is an attractive global career.

“Accountants’ skills are more important than ever, to restore confidence in the global economy, to help businesses identify and manage costs and deliver sustainable growth.”
