Criminal Records Bureau launches online progress tracking service

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) has launched its first web service – allowing customers to see what stage their requests are at.

CRB chief executive Vince Gaskell said: “Launching the online tracking service was one of our key strategic objectives for the year. “It represents the beginning of our journey, which will see more services delivered electronically.”

The CRB provides information about job applicants’ criminal records through its Disclosure service, allowing organisations to make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, particularly that involving children or vulnerable adults.
