The retailer, part of DSGi, is anticipating a massive increase in demand for its electrical products in the run-up to Christmas.

The company has launched an online application tool as part of its recruitment drive. The website allows job seekers to apply for jobs immediately and view current vacancies.

Sally Temple, succession and recruitment manager for Currys, said: “It’s an exciting and busy time of year. We’re looking for people with a passion for retail and an even greater passion for helping customers and working in a team environment.”

DSGi’s workforce has grown by 11,000 in five years and further store openings are planned in the UK and internationally.
