Ditch the agencies that don’t deliver the goods

I am responding to Patrizia Napoli’s complaint about recruitment agency bidding wars (Personnel Today, 17 January). When doing business with agencies, I always ensure that I fully understand the way the organisation conducts its business on my behalf, and that I have all charges, terms and conditions in writing before I start any transaction with the agencies. If it appears that a recruitment agency is incapable of attaining a high standard of administration or customer care, I simply don’t deal with them.
