Editor celebrates windfall after unceremonious exit

Dumped
Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan is to receive a £1.7m payoff from his former
employers.

The
payment will take into account share options over the next two years, pension
entitlements and basic salary.

Morgan
was sacked after publishing pictures allegedly showing British soldiers
torturing Iraqi prisoners. He has also signed a £1.2m book deal for his
memoirs.
