Former army trainer guilty of indecent assault

A former army trainer at Deepcut Barracks in Surrey has been found guilty of indecently assaulting four young recruits.

Leslie Skinner, who served with the Royal Logistics Corps, admitted five charges of indecent assaults between 1992 and 1997 on four male soldiers aged between 17 and 20, and was sentenced to four-and-a half years.

Skinner had already been a convicted by courts martial for indecently exposing himself in a car park in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence said that procedures had since been changed to ensure those convicted of similar offences were not posted to training establishments.
