Jurys Inn group plans hundreds of new jobs as expansion funds secured

Hotel group Jurys Inn is set to create hundreds of new jobs after it secured £60m in funding to support a further expansion of the business.

The firm, which has 23 hotels in the UK, said it would look at opening new hotels in key markets such as London, the BBC has reported.

It has already opened five new hotels across the UK this year, with another due to open in Aberdeen.

More hotels will open next year in Portsmouth, Glasgow, Newcastle and Bradford.

Jurys’ chief executive, John Brennan, said the new funds, half from major shareholders and the rest from an extension of its existing debt, represented a vote of confidence in the firm and its growth plans in the face of challenging trading conditions.
