The course can be taken on a full-time basis or part-time for those in employment. The full-time course takes 30 weeks, or two semesters, to complete, plus an additional 15 weeks period for the MSc. The part-time course requires attendance one afternoon and one evening a week.
The course is open to graduate of an Honours degree. Graduates of non-business/management disciplines, and non-graduates with experience, may want to take the Access Foundation in Management Studies as a pre-Masters course. No work experience is required for those attending on a full-time basis.
These include the business environment, HR management, finance for managers, marketing, managing people, economics of business, e-business systems, and planning and decision-making. Students also complete a research methods module prior to the preparation and completion of their MSc dissertation. There is a Full Time Placement Route working in Industry for seven weeks. The Full Time Route also starts with another intake at the end of January 2005.
Participants at middle management level will develop management skills in general business/management and the course will help prepare them to move into higher levels of management.
