Merseyside firefighters face up to 80 job cuts

The BBC has reported that firefighters on Merseyside are to be hit with up to 80 job cuts over the next three years.

According to report, The Fire Authority passed the proposals to make the job cuts at a recent meeting in an effort to deal with a £5m budget deficit.

The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has condemned the plans, and has complained that there is already a shortage of staff in the Fire Service.
