The
Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has launched a recruitment campaign after
announcing it will create 2,000 jobs in the North East.
The
department hopes to attract the additional staff to work in Jobcentre Plus
offices and call centres, the Child Support Agency and the new pension service.
The
job creation is part of a major overhaul of the way the benefits system is run,
and the DWP is offering comprehensive training and support to successful
applicants.
Recruiters
will be holding a series of special workshops so jobseekers can find out more
about the roles, as well as offering a series of short courses for the
long-term unemployed.
The
jobs will be based across Tyneside, Northumberland, Teeside, Durham and
Wearside.
