Personnel Today HR award must broaden entry criteria

We are a small not-for-profit enterprise of just 150 employees and our HR department, which recently increased in size from two to three people, has overseen a transformation of our organisation in culture, structure and effectiveness over the past four years.

I am disappointed that the definition of small HR department in Personnel Today’s Best Places to Work in HR awards sets a minimum of five staff in the team, excluding HR professionals from organisations such as ours from a chance at such recognition.

Our employee engagement is superb, and a recent employee satisfaction survey produced results that many organisations could only dream about.

Please can you review the categories in your awards for 2009.

Perhaps publishing this letter provides some recognition for our HR team that their organisation really does appreciate all they have done and continue to do.
