Positive work relationships are good for your well-being

Good workplace relationships are key to improving employees’ health, new
research shows.

A survey of 1,000 employees by the CIPD saw 39 per cent of respondents claim
that good relationships at work have the most beneficial effect on their
well-being.

This factor came ahead of the amount of help available when facing problems
at work (21 per cent), the amount of control over what work they do (16 per
cent), and the number of hours worked (4 per cent).

Thirty per cent of respondents said a heavy workload was had a ‘somewhat
harmful effect’ on their health, and 27 per cent claimed long hours adversely
affected them.  www.cipd.co.uk
