Rail union warns of strikes over pay

Rail
union Aslef has warned of a national strike unless pay rates can be agreed with
35 employers.

Aslef,
which represents 14,000 drivers, wants three national rates of pay for
inter-city, regional line and freight drivers.

Reports
in The Times newspaper claim the union has given employers until May to agree
to the first national deal since privatisation.

Aslef
is also wants better pay for drivers working in London and the South East.
