The shortlisted submissions to the Personnel Today/Henley Management College bursary competition

The calibre of candidates was extremely high for our competition to win an £18,000 bursary to study for the new MSc in Advanced HR Management at Henley Management College.

Six candidates reached the shortlist – all of whom attended a selection day at Henley in early April. The winner was Rachel Oliver, a partner at HR consultancy People Mechanics. The programme starts in September. We’ll be following her progress via a weekly blog and a monthly column in Personnel Today’s Careerwise section.

All entrants to the competition had to submit an essay on: What are the key skills for the HR practitioner of the future?

Here, you can read the winning essay and four of the finalists’ essays.
