A
recruitment team from the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) has been targeting City
workers on the London Underground to try to tempt them to follow careers in the
classroom.
Earlier
this week, the TTA representatives asked commuters if they had ever considered
a career in teaching, during the rush hour at Bank, Moorgate, Blackfriars,
Liverpool Street and Tower Hill stations.
TTA
director of teacher supply and recruitment Mary Doherty said: “Many people
working in the City have skills and resources which are valuable to the
teaching profession. This approach is an opportunity for City workers to look
at what teaching offers in terms of career satisfaction, a chance to make a
difference and a new challenge.”
