Wake-up calls as tardy workers admit to lying in

Almost half of all workers claim they are never late for work, according to
an internet poll.

Just over 45 per cent said they were on time every day, while 21.1 per cent
admitted to being late once a month.

However, almost 20 per cent said they were late every single working day,
cancelling out the punctuality of their colleagues.

The survey, by jobs portal Tiptopjob.com, found another 13.8 per cent of
staff were late once a week.

If an employee is five minutes late every day this adds up to 6,525 minutes
a year – or 14 days.

A separate survey by taxi firm Blueback found HR was the third least
punctual department, with 31 per cent regularly more than an hour late for
meetings.
