Help with Counter Schedule of Loss

I have made an ET claim against my ex-employer for constructive dismissal and discrimination. The hearing is still over a month away, but they have just sent me a counter schedule of loss, with quite detailed reasons why they don't think I would receive the losses I have claimed in my schedule of loss. I was wondering if someone could help with a few questions I have about this, as I am representing myself: - Why are they sending this to me at this stage? Wouldn't this usually come up in a remedy hearing? - Do I need to respond in any way? For instance, do I have to put any counterarguments to them at stage? It seems a bit odd to me to be getting into these arguments before the hearing has even been held. - They state I need to show I've mitigated my losses by applying for jobs - do they mean I have to show this now? Or can this wait until the remedy hearing?

I suspect that as the contributors to this site are predominantly HR specialists and not legal specialists you may not get a response. I strongly recommend that you contact ACAS for guidance (type ACAS into any search engine). They will be able to advise from a process perspective, as all the questions relate to the process of the claim and not necessarily the actual claim.
