How do I upload an avatar?

First find a picture. It can be you, your pet, your favourite object - whatever you like. There are tonnes of sites (search for free avatars here) to choose from but make sure you respect copyright laws.

Once you have one you need to save it somewhere where you can later upload. In IE6 and IE7 this means right-clicking the pic and choosing "Save Picture As..."

In Firefox it's right click and then "Save Image as"...

Then go to Edit Profile in the top right (under the HR Space logo). Click on the Avatar tab. Browse to the file you saved. Click Update. Click Enable Avatar. Then click Save.
