While I support the laudible efforts by HR professionals and search companies to improve female board representation, we will make little headway until FTSE 100 boards in particular actively recognise the contribution women can and will make at senior levels. This still needs a massive shift in culture and values which can only be driven from within an organisation.
Focus should be on the root cause not the symptoms of this endemic problem.
