One of our managers has grossly exaggerated his job role on his CV on linked in to the point that he says he is responsible for areas that he is not and says he is a director of the company .  He is Director for one small aspect of our Indian business to allow him more ease in setting up that small sales office. This was seen as very much a a temporary thing . As a company can we do anything and is there anything legally we could link it to?

Probably not a lot you can do. A quiet word with someone he knows and trusts to the effect that you have been made aware of his statements and that those statements might impact references - (where if you give a reference, you have to be honest) is about it - unless what he is saying can be proven to have a measurable impact on your Co.

However, so many times Tribunals have sought to protect the individuals private world from their employment one - unless the employer can prove negative impact.

Hi,

First speak to the individual and ask them to correct it. If they fail to do so, then as the employer ysou can contact LinkedIn via the "flag this profile" option and send LI appropriate data saying why it is wrong. they will correct it
