I work for a very small business with 21 employees, with a projected growth of up to 50 employees within 6-10 years time. Though I am the Finance Controller, as I was the first employee of the company, the function of Personnel Management has always ended up at my desk (and having previous HR experience). Currently it is not seen as a function in itself and therefore gets limited (or no) funds. Due to this, last year when our paper/ excel based system was getting a bit awkward I was given £150 to spend on software and ended up with VizualHR Personnel Assistant. This has now reached its peak as it is limited to 20 employees.

It has now been agreed that I can look at implementing a longer term solution, however budget is still very tight - and having worked previously for a HR Software company I am fully aware of the thousands of pounds this can be. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for budget software for up to 50 employees. Having searched for HR Software on the internet, most of these are just too big or beyond our budget. We are looking at approx. £2,000 for just Personnel (no payroll, training or recruitment required at this stage). Paternity/ Parental records would be a bonus as we have a predominately male work force all with young children or with pregnant wives. I know it is probably a big ask - but within our budget are there any providers with self-service / browser based software? If I can get the directors/ managers to take more responsibility for thier teams and be able to access their staff records and use them to benefit the business, I think they will find this invaluabe and therefore see HR as a business function and not just as a chore of record keeping that just "has to be done".

Any advice much appreciated - thank you.

Hi Jessy,

We have expanded from 18 employees, to 50 in just under a year and we had the same problem with spreadsheets and paper-based systems.

I found a program called eDays which is web based, and very cost effective. It manages holidays, sickness, training and TOIL and costs us £1 per employee per month. I think the set up fee was less than £500 but could double check if useful.

All of our staff seem to find this very user friendly.

Hope this helps,

Michelle

 Hi Jessy,

We offer an online personnel and reporting system, which is self-service and charged at a monthly rate, to ensure it is not a large cost to your company. Best of all you are charged for your employee banding and this can grow to whatever you require, with no restrictions, you just pay for the employee banding you fall in and the longer you sign up the cheaper it is.

We have a maternity/paternity section on the system, and electronic notes and any necessary documentation can be attached to indiviual employees'. We have different levels of access to ensure that your HR admin is spread out and we have a reminder system to managers/administrators can keep on top of their HR duites.

We have the opportunity to show you a demo of the system online or you can even apply for trial user access for 14 days, free of charge, where you will have access to a test company.

To get further information on MHR, visit our website www.minervabs.net (where you will find a breakdown of the costs) or email directly at r.waterson@minervabs.net and I will be happy to help you with any queries you may have.

Kind Regards,

Ryan

You can choose a software which can fit for your budget. Many online software are available which starts up from small level to high level organization, that can manage more than millions people through online. So no worry about budget. Then some software providers are offers free trail and also many providers costs for person wise. We can pay the count of the employee alone.
