Dear All,

Being a working student in an service company, a People Agenda was recently introduced. I´ve learnt that it is a way to address people topics company-wide. But, I was told that it is not the HR strategy.

Now I am wondering if it is very common to have a people agenda to which the explicit HR strategy is aligned because I have never seen it before. What is your experience with a People Agenda in your company? Is it a lip service or does it really address the burning people topics? Does it improve the situation of employees in your company?

Thanks a lot for comments.

Best regards,

Ellen

I think it was Alice who said that a word will mean exactly what I want it to mean.

Different Cos use different terms to cover similar areas.

In one Co I worked in , the HR strategy was a Board/Company document which was posted on our internal website. One of its themes was that we would respond positively to the outcomes of our employee survey.

Once we had the main outcomes of the survey, and translated them in to action areas, that became known as the "Poeple Agenda" - but it was only a part of the overall HR strategy.
