My client is a leading organisation, unique within the UK, with a national remit employing almost 2,000 people across a diverse range of occupations. Following a strategic overview my client seeks an interim Assistant HR Manager to work closely alongside the established HR Advisor to provide commercially focused HR solutions to a number of different sites across the region. The region has sites based in the North including Scotland and it is expected that you will spend 2-3 days at the different sites, getting to understand each of the units and building strong relationships with senior management teams, helping them to drive their businesses forward.
Key responsibilities include:
*Advise and support managers on employment matters; guiding them through appropriate procedures e.g. sickness absence management, handling of grievances and disciplinaries, including active involvement at formal stages.
*Support managers through the recruitment and selection process by ensuring that best practice is considered, there is consistency of approach and that organisational values and corporate image are effectively promoted.
*Manage the process of varying terms and conditions of employment. Oversee the HR administration process by liaising with appropriate managers and the Central Admin team. Using SAP as a tool to advise managers and authorise changes to be made by the HR administrative support team.
*Support employee relations activities such as liaising with Trades Union representatives on employment matters.
*Participation and/or management of HR projects as part of the HR works programme or on ad hoc basis as required.
You will be a motivated HR Professional keen to play a key role within a unique organisation that leads it field. CIPD or part qualified is essential.
