A large investment bank based in Canary Wharf is currently looking to hire an interim C&B Consultant (Cash Compensation and Analytics). You will be responsible for a number of processes and client support across Compensation & Benefits:
1. As part of HR COE Compensation & Benefits, create, amend and improve compensation analytics (particularly market data) to aid decision making.
2. Partner with the client relationship teams to provide compensation advice to the line on a global basis.
3. Carry out ad hoc projects when required.
4. Assist with other C&B duties as appropriate - share plans, buyouts, projects, general queries and other typical COE type responsibilities as a member of the team.
As our client is fast approaching one of the busiest times of the year it is essential for any applicants to not only have knowledge of compensation and benefits but also possess extremely strong analysis skills too.
Main Duties
1. Client facing to provide effective products and services
2. Responsible for building an effective working relationships with the Global Compensation & Benefits team
3. Provision of global hiring guidelines to the global Resourcing team annually
4. Maintain the infrastructure bonus model in order to provide bonus spend projections to the line based on different variables
5. Run the production of compensation profiles for the year end process
6. Input and usage of McLagan job matching and data including maintaining and updating McLagan Best Match databases
7. Input into Senior Executive compensation review (CEO and 1st and 2nd level direct reports)
8. Input into the annual graduate compensation review (advise Campus Recruiting of starting compensation rates for graduates; advise businesses on compensation for graduates at year-end) Ad hoc projects e.g. creating and adding to Global Compensation policies, European Benefits
Department Overview
The Human Resources function at Barclays Capital is structured around a Client Relationship Teams and Centres of Excellence, which are staffed with professionals who have expertise in their particular area. Client Relationship Teams are clustered to provide coverage to the business:

* IBD, DCM & GCP
* Rates
* Private Equity & SCM
* Infrastructure
The delivery of HR services sits with the Client Relationship Teams. The Centres of Excellence (of which Compensation & Benefits is one) provide leading-edge thinking in their specific areas of expertise and project management of key HR processes.
Main Function
Responsible for a number of processes and client support across Compensation & Benefits:

2. Responsible for building an effective working relationships with the Global Compensation & Benefits team

4. Maintain the infrastructure bonus model in order to provide bonus spend projections to the line based on different variables
5. Run the production of compensation profiles for the year end process - standard and MD
6. Input and usage of McLagan job matching and data including maintaining and updating McLagan Best Match databases
7. Input into Senior Executive compensation review (CEO and 1st and 2nd level direct reports)
8. Input into the annual graduate compensation review (advise Campus Recruiting of starting compensation rates for graduates; advise businesses on compensation for graduates at year-end) Ad hoc projects e.g. creating and adding to Global Compensation policies, European Benefits
Person Requirements
* Degree Level education.
* 3-6 years Compensation & Benefits experience
* Ideally survey experience, such as McLagan
* Experience of building strong relationships
* HR experience outside of C&B (preferred but not essential)
* Diplomacy in dealing with senior members of staff globally
* An understanding of the investment banking business, the environment and its people
* Project management and ability to work effectively to exacting deadlines
* Highly numerate
* Strongly analytical and an effective problem solver
* IT literate, exceptional Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Work experience involving interaction with a variety of levels, internal or external
* Initiation and manipulation of tasks and the ability to problem solve
* MS Access database skills would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be a polished, professional, confident, motivated self-starter. They will be a strong team player and personally well organised. Relationship management skills will be essential as will being analytical and business/financially astute.
They should be prepared to challenge the status quo and to question standard procedures.
