Employee Relations Specialist
Global professional services firm, in the heart of Canary Wharf with outstanding offices, require an Employee Relations Specialist for a 6 month contract, leading to permanent. The role is very demanding, high volume and challenging. You will be working within the Policy and Advice Team to provide advice and resolution for complex employee issues and provide critical ER support to the firm.
You will provide specialist knowledge to a varied of cases and act as an expert in legislation and be able to create processes and procedures. You will be able to provide advice and guidance on the impact of new regulations and ensure necessary changes.
As the Employee Relations Specialist for the firm, your key responsibilities will be:
• Responding to a range of complex queries e.g. disciplinary hearings, capability processes and grievance procedures;
• Managing specialist ER activities such as redundancy situations, employee consultation, TUPE transfers and policy development, attend tribunals as a representative;
• Coaching, supporting and advising pro-active problem resolution and best practice within the Firm;
• Liaising with external bodies to determine impact of changes in policy or regulation
• Investigate, develop and implement policy improvement, proactively providing guidance and expertise.
You will have:
• Previous ER experience gained within professional services (banking, finance, consulting, legal etc.) ESSENTIAL, knowledge of Legal procedures and a proven track record of dealing with complex ER issues.
• Extensive understanding of employment legislation and data Protection Act
• Superb influencing skills and an exceptional communicator.
• Degree educated and have a formal HR qualification e.g. Fellow CIPD or equivalent.
• Management skills not essential but will be completely utilised if candidates have good management abilities.
You will be responsible for liaising and influencing partners of the firm so strong confident communication skills and the ability to form professional relationships are essential. You will have a proven, STABLE, track record of working within professional services/partnership.
