GPS Senior Professional Development Manager
£40,204 - £53,884
London or Norwich

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC), an office of HM Treasury, supports government departments and other public sector organisations to get best value from the procurement of goods and services. The Government Procurement Service (GPS) programme led by the OGC CEO/Head of GPS has been established to facilitate the achievement of this aim. Its vision is to create “a sustainable balance of skilled procurement professionals, matching the growing scale and complexity of government’s
delivery agenda”. The GPS Division is now recruiting for high calibre candidates to join a growing team in a number of new full time roles to deliver this agenda in partnership with Departments.

Reporting to the GPS Head of Capacity Management, you’ll be responsible for driving the implementation of a Talent Management programme strategy for procurement professionals throughout central government that includes succession planning processes and career paths. Key initial responsibility will be to establish a project plan that defines how the programme will be rolled out. In addition, you’ll work with the Cabinet Office, Departmental Heads of Profession and other senior stakeholders to market the programme.

With a strong blend of public sector procurement and project management experience, you’ll bring a good understanding of stakeholder leadership and professional development to the role.

OGC offers competitive salaries and a range of benefits, including 28.5 days annual leave on appointment, a choice of pension scheme and flexible working. This role is offered as a permanent or three-year fixed term appointment.

Civil Service Nationality Rules mean we can only accept applications from the UK, Commonwealth, EU, Swiss and Turkish nationals who have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom.

OGC values diversity and we aim for our workforce to reflect the society we serve.

We guarantee an interview to any candidate with a disability who meets the minimum essential requirements for the posts.
