Our client is a top ten US Law Firm. This role will see you working with the Director of Legal HR and Training Principal to define, review and develop the on-going graduate recruitment strategy to ensure the firm attracts and retains high calibre candidates;
You will provide HR support and advise, support and coach trainees on all aspects of training, recruitment issues and qualification; and to promote and monitor equality and diversity.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the whole graduate recruitment process, which includes:
* Setting targets and criteria for recruitment in consultation with HR Manager and the CHRO - Legal
* Responsible for university marketing programme (law fairs, campus events, advertising, publicity materials) to raise the profile of the firm.
* Securing places at and attending law fairs to promote the firm to potential trainee solicitors
· Build relationships with university law societies, careers services and academic liaison programmes to enhance links with target universities
* Designing and managing delivery of Vacation Scheme Programmes, Summer Associate Programme and Open Days
* Effective management of cvMail online application system to process and review Training Contract and Vacation Scheme applications and provide relevant statistics
* Organisation including scheduling of and participation in the interview process for vacation schemes and training contracts including candidate screening and assessment days, co-ordinating interviews and interviewing
* Preparation of documentation including offer letters, training contracts etc in accordance with Law Society / SRA regulations
* Promoting diversity, for example through partnership with SEO, Stonewall, The Black Solicitors Network & support of initiatives such as the National Mentoring Consortium. Monitoring compliance with the firm's diversity policy as it relates to trainee solicitors
* Managing the firm's graduate recruitment section of the website
* Managing all graduate recruitment administrative processes
* Managing the graduate recruitment campaign including the design and creation of the firm's graduate recruitment brochure and related materials in conjunction with the HR Manager and Marketing department
* Organising trainee events in the London office for "trainees-in-waiting"
Career development of trainee solicitors, which includes:
* Liaising with attorneys to define and deliver an effective training programme for trainee solicitors
* Building relationships with and educating London attorneys to ensure that trainee solicitors receive relevant experience and are adequately supervised
* Retaining contact with trainees from point of offer to start date, ensuring they continue to feel involved in the firm and providing a point of contact. Liaison with law schools to monitor their progress
* Responsible for the induction, integration, training and assessment of London based trainee solicitors
* Ensuring trainee solicitors are registered with The Law Society / SRA and that the firm and its processes are compliant with The Law Society / SRA regulations
* Providing trainee solicitors with HR support (including career counselling, administering grievance and disciplinary matters, references, appraisals etc) as required
* Selection of trainee solicitors for international and client secondments - identify suitable candidates, organise interviews as appropriate, arrange transfer and keep in regular contact
* Managing the Seat Allocation Process
· Qualification Process
· Network with and benchmark against competitor firms to ensure the firm is marketing competitively compared to 'rival' firms
· To set and manage the graduate recruitment budget

· Monitoring compliance with the firm's diversity policy
· Liasing with the Diversity Manager in New York regarding firmwide initiatives
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Graduate with 5 years experience in graduate recruitment (two years of which should have been gained in a role with senior line management contact)
CIPD qualified (or willing to study for their CIPD)
Previous professional services experience
Role specific skills
