GRADUATE RECRUITMENT OFFICER – LEADING LAW FIRM - £38K
One of London’s law firms is looking for a graduate recruitment officer to work alongside the Graduate Recruitment Manager. Duties will include:-

Pre-selection
· Assist GRAs with pre-selection of candidates for interview against set criteria. Act as referral point for complex candidates or contacts.
· Provide interviewers with information concerning the assessment process.
· Manage the process for liaising with internal / referred applicants including paralegals. This involves communicating decisions with sponsoring partners and providing feedback to candidates.
Interviews
· Sit on interview panel.
· Monitor fee-earners and partners on opening and closing interview panels.
· Liaise with departmental supervising partners regarding fee-earners and / or partners wishing to join the interviewer panel.
· Assist GRM with the hosting of interviewer training days, including observation of mock interviews and feedback to interviewers.
· Assist GRM in discussing decisions with interviewers where necessary and liaising with Susan Hazledine in GRM's absence.
· Monitor prompt receipt of completed interview report forms from all interviewers.
· Provide feedback to unsuccessful interview candidates.
Advertising
· Devise and monitor advertising strategy and spend for the year. Monitor success of different publications and websites.
· Negotiate deals and placing of adverts with a number of publishers and manage these relationships.
· Prepare adverts, profiles and other text for marketing materials.
· Represent the firm on TARGET Law editorial board.
Campus Marketing and Events
· Devise and monitor on-campus sponsorship strategy and spend.
· Act as recruitment contact for a number of University Alumni Teams. Motivate teams, communicate and update on developments in Graduate Recruitment activity, and implement year-round strategy.
· Organise annual Law Society Presidents' Open Day and lunches.
· Liaise with Careers Services / student societies regarding profile-raising.
· Review and decide on sponsorship requests.
· Organise and deliver skills sessions at target universities.
· Compile negotiation game / business game for use on campus.
· Deliver presentations to open day, Insight Week and vacation students.
· Represent the firm at Law Fairs and campus presentations.
Diversity
· Devise and implement diversity strategy for Graduate Recruitment.
· Evaluate success of different diversity publications and websites.
· Liaise with external organisations to promote the firm to a wide range of potential recruits.
· Produce diversity statistics and monitor representation within the trainee body.
· Act as consultant to team on issues related to diversity and inclusion.
· Liaise with HR team over firm-wide diversity issues.
· Organise and attend diversity events such as TARGET Chances, Sutton Trust summer schools and Pathways to Law, and Pure Potential.
· Organise and run annual London universities Work Experience placement week.
Future trainees
· Deal with requests for changes in start date and maintain waiting list. Liaise with HR Manager for Trainees to monitor intake numbers.
· Liaise with HR Assistant for trainees to offer advice on requests for loans and awards.
Supervision of team members
· Supervise work of 3 GRAs ensuring that responses to candidates and other clients happen in a timely fashion. Assist in any aspect of Graduate Recruitment activity where needed.
· Discuss team objectives and performance with Graduate Recruitment Manager on regular basis.
Ad hoc functions
· Provide support for HR team for Trainees at events and induction days.
· Give occasional support to wider HR team, for support staff recruitment, etc.
· Answer ad hoc recruitment queries from anyone within the business and advise on best practice in recruitment
Assist GRM with ad hoc projects.
