Our client is a government body looking to recruit a strong ER expert with public sector experience. The role is responsible for creating a fair, respectful, diverse and high performance culture enabling people to contribute their best. The successful applicant will develop, deliver and maintain a business focused employee relations strategy that meets the needs of all the stakeholder groups and ensure that the Employee Relations (ER) team achieve their objectives and work plan. This role manages 4 people so you will need to display management experience.

You will also need to show some or all of the following experience:

Managing and handling the people aspects of restructures and redundancies in a
public sector, preferably Civil Service, environment.

A track record of delivery in the areas of planning and delivering of employee relations initiatives.

Demonstrable experience of managing contentious people issues effectively together with a high level of emotional intelligence and strong inter-personal and communication skills.

Demonstrable expertise and experience in the field of employee relations.

A sound generalist HR background with experience of managing people and a wide understanding of people issues.

Able to demonstrate up-to-date training and experience in employment law.

Proven management skills and experience.
