An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional HR generalist with a flair or strong leaning towards the Employee relations arena.

You will be managing a team of 4 and have previous experience of managing and developing a team and be able to manage contentious people issues effectively together with a high level of emotional intelligence and strong inter-personal and communication skills.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead negotiations and consultation with any formal union and staff Associations on behalf of the organisation with a view to achieving positive outcomes and broad agreement to proposals which meet the business goals.

• Lead on the employee relations aspects of proposed changes to organisation structure and employment levels and contracts which are needed to support the delivery of the business objectives.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Human Resource function by developing a progressive, business focused employee relations strategy that meets the current and future needs of the organization.
• Contribute to the continued improvement of the health of the organisation by monitoring performance indicators, such as sickness absence, levels of grievances and disciplinaries and work/life balance, and developing initiatives and solutions to enable positive trends.
• Provide responsive and high quality support, training and advice to all parts of the business including senior managers to ensure the appropriate management of all employee relations issues including in particular change management, grievances, poor performance and disciplinary action.

Your Skills
• Strong project management skills which demonstrate the ability to see the bigger picture without losing sight of the detail.
• Capability to work at both a strategic and operational level
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and creativity in identifying options and risks in order to make the right decisions around issues that have the potential to have a significantly adverse effect on the organisation both in financial and employee relations terms.

• Will be an effective problem solver with the organisational skills and ability to make things happen.

• Will be able to demonstrate a proactive, confident and resilient approach.

• Committed to developing people, the approach to staff will be creative and the individual will enjoy working with a high degree of autonomy.
