A senior appointment has arisen for a leading and innovative UK engineering business for a Head of HR supporting a customer base of c2300 staff. The role will report into the HR Director and will manage a team of 12 HR generalist, support and project management staff.
A very high profile role which will be providing leadership, direction and advice on people management, organisation and change management challenges facing the organisation, both now and in the future.
Key responsibilities:
*Develop and deliver an effective suite of human resource policy and practice which will compliment the current and future direction of the business with the support of the specialist HR disciplines.
*Manage the day to day deliver of the HR service to provide a continually improving service level.
*Advise the functional Director on appropriate solutions to business problems specifically where these are in the area of people and organisation, specifically identifying those issues which require long term solutions.
*Provide facilitation coaching, counselling and development services to the Functional Director's Executive team(s).
*Manage, trade union and employee relationships working with appropriate executive colleagues and managers within the corporate employee relations framework.
*Advise on implications and management of change, identifying and delivering those change programmes necessary to deliver continuing improvement for the business.
*Work with the line to deliver appropriately resources with the right skills and knowledge for both today's work and future challenges.
*Contribute to the development of the Human Resources strategy and archive driven and consistent implementation within the supported function(s).
Skills and experience required:
*Broad up to date knowledge of employment legislation
*Rounded human resources generalist experience
*Substantial industrial and employee relations experience, negotiating and managing relationships at the most senior levels
*Extensive HR experience, some of which, will have been in line management
*Demonstrable record of service improvement
*Experience of managing organisation change programmes

*Excellent facilitation skills
*Excellent presentation skills both, oral and written
*Some line management experience outside of HR
*Good meetings management capabilities
*Excellent interviewing and selection techniques
*Good development planning skills
