Head of HR - Group Shared Service Centres : Profile of the role

Head of HR, GSSCs is a complex and a large role as a senior HR practitioner within HR & GTO world. The workforce in GSSCs is about ~9000 between GSSCs Chennai, KL and China. (Chennai - 6500; KL - 2350 and China 184)

The Head of HR role is directly accountable for HR in Chennai and for KL and China through governance, with direct reporting relationships of Heads of HR - China and KL.

The hubs have ambition plans to grow aligned to the pace of the growth of the Bank's business with plans to touch 11000 to 12000 in the next couple of years.

The Chennai hub is growing in its complexity of the business process capability across seven different verticals. Some of the challenges of the hub are viz. to continue to produce cost and productivity efficiencies; provide HR thought leadership; build organizational capability to scale; drive innovation and automation; sustain best-in-class people practices that enable managing a young and vibrant mobile workforce; strong governance and relationship in people management; continue to build and sustain employer brand.

The incumbent requires the following profile:

· A professional or relevant post graduate management qualification is essential.

· At least fifteen years experience in Human Resources at both operational and strategic level.

· Knowledge of banking business/financial services and IT/ITeS industry in India is a distinct advantage.

· Strong interpersonal skills, influencing skills.

· High analytical ability.

· Commercially, culturally and diversity aware, high sensitivity to the social, economic and political environment.

· Highly customer focussed, as it demands in a service industry.

· Strong leadership and people management skills to direct a large team (30+).

· In depth knowledge of all subjects in HR with experience of international practices is preferred.
