The Commission for Rural Communities is the organisation speaking up for rural people and communities, especially those experiencing disadvantage. We ensure that policies take full account of rural needs and circumstances, providing the government with independent, expert and evidence based advice.

This is the perfect opportunity to really develop your generalist skills – supporting our Head of Human Resources in delivering the very best service to the entire CRC team, and making sure our policies and practices are innovative and up to date. In particular, you’ll maintain our staff handbook, implement our Learning & Development Strategy, manage casework and make sure all changes to policy or new procedures are well communicated. An active partner to line managers, you will also be responsible for the HR transactional team.

With at least three years practical experience – or a degree – you’ll hold, or be on your way to gaining, CIPD accreditation. You must also bring an enthusiasm for sharing ideas and building productive relationships – and you will support this with excellent communication, team-working and organisational skills. Up to date generalist HR knowledge goes without saying, and you’ll understand how to effectively engage with people, deliver presentations, delegate, manage conflict and feedback on performance.
