This blue chip organisation is looking to recruit a HR Business Partner- Talent to engage with the business and support with generalist , L&D and Talent expertise in a combined role.

Principal Accountabilities:

Business Unit - Leadership
Is a member of the Commercial and Finance SMT leading on all people related matters
Manages overall performance of HR team, ensuring they directly enable business performance
People Planning
Leads formulation and implementation of Commercial and Finance Directorate people plans
Contributes to the strategic people plan
Leads on organisational design and change activity in relation to matters within the business directorates
Ensures organisation design and structures within the Commercial and Finance Directorates optimise synergies and efficiencies across Retail
Works with Change management to ensure change initiatives align with and enable Retail strategic aims, identifying and taking people related actions to rectify shortfalls in structural performance

Development
Oversees the development of strategic tools tailored for the Commercial and Finance Directorates environment
Ensure the development and implementation of a cross functional succession plan
Secure and leverage best practice insight specifically within a Commercial and Finance environment to challenge and strengthen approach to people management
Takes the lead on the Learning and Development, talent, professional development and performance management agendas
Make timely and informed decisions around people investment (recruitment, training etc.)
Ensures professional development of people within the Finance and Commercial job families to enable delivery of business priorities
Ensure robust and actionable career plans are developed; focused on retaining and developing high performers

Functional Leadership
Give leadership and direction to a team of HR professionals and guidance to SMT on people related areas
Set targets for appraisal, development and reviews immediate reports and ensure this occurs for all departmental personnel
Takes responsibility for people development across the directorate and is a major influence on the behaviour and culture
Leverage understanding of Financial and Commercial external environment to identify and implement areas of people best practice to achieve competitive advantage in line with business unit
Maximise knowledge sharing within and across the HR function; ensuring a high degree of transparency over operations aims and activities
Review and approve operational and capital expenditure plans within delegated authority controls
Drives continuous improvement in the function


Knowledge and Skills:

Accomplished generalist HR Manager preferably with specific expertise of learning and development at a strategic level - ideally to have previously worked within a learning and development environment
Possession of a CIPD qualification would be desirable but not essential
Evidence of the ability to provide business partnering approach
Champion change and win support from both senior management and wider HR community, across multi-disciplined functions should be evident in previous achievements
A demonstrable, sound track record of devising and implementing successful HR strategy with bottom line contribution is crucial
Sound knowledge of practical HR principles and practices, with emphasis on career management methodologies, talent management and learning/development
A sound comprehension or HR and business models and their application in meeting business requirements
An influential and confident manner should be allied to a commercial and professional outlook
