Job purpose: Plays a core role in delivering a complete HR service which enables business areas to meet or exceed their objectives and to partner the business management teams to ensure that the people agenda is met.

Key Activities Partnering the Acquisitions and Nursery management team to drive business performance. Instigate and deliver value adding initiatives in-line with the Consumer people strategy. Drive operational excellence in terms of the HR service provided to the business, pulling on the Centres of Excellence as appropriate (e.g. Resourcing, Learning and Development, HR Team).

Main responsibilities of role Provides a business driven, professional and consultative service to managers and colleagues.

Work effectively as part of a team of HR consultants working to deliver a professional, proactive HR service.

Promotes best practice approaches to operational issues including recruitment, retention, attendance, talent management, succession planning, performance management, disciplinary, employment law issues, well being and learning and development.

Contributes to the development of HR solutions and influences the business to reflect people issues.

Delivers pragmatic and flexible HR approaches that support and meet operational business objectives.

Proactively identifies and builds sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and creates an effective network of colleagues from across the business.

Maintains knowledge of business colleagues to assist in succession planning and talent mapping.

Ensure service delivery meets expectations and delivers tangible benefits.

Provides added value coaching and consultancy skills to local line-management.

Understands the bigger picture and is pro-active in challenging thinking and bringing new perspectives.

Solid working knowledge of employment law and application of that knowledge in a commercial manner.

Champion the Retail Reward proposals for all colleagues within the business by educating, informing and coaching colleagues and managers where appropriate.

Communicate and engage the rest of the business in the key proposals ensuring business impact is highlighted and considered, taking the lead on relevant projects as appropriate.

Work with internal communication colleagues to promote communication throughout local channels, driving employee engagement.

Work closely with UK HR services and HR Business Partner to ensure all local HR Practices are free of bureaucracy, simple and transparent with clear authority levels whilst working collaboratively with HR to improve service levels to the business.

Continually look for more effective value added methods of delivery.

Qualifications:Key skill requirements HR experience including experience of partnering business managers.

The ability to demonstrate a breadth of HR experience across a number of disciplines.

Strong project management and delivery experience.

Strong team working skills with the ability to quickly build effective working relationships.

Strong influencing skills with the ability to ask the right questions to get to the heart of the issue and ability to provide creative solutions.

Experience of challenging the accepted ways of doing things to push things forward.

you are able to commit to a 12month contract and have experience of working closely with the Business Managers within a fast moving commercial operation providing wide-ranging HR support, this role could be your next step
