HR Consultant

We are working with a client who is recruiting for a HR Consultant for their organisation based in the West Midlands but covering the West of the country. The organisation is one of the UK's largest training providers offering government funded Apprenticeships to 16-24 year olds in various industries.

The Purpose of the role will be to provide a consultancy HR service to ensure that management and company practices are in line with business objectives, good practice and employment law. The HR Consultants together with the HR Assistants will provide support, advice and guidance on all people issues in achieving the business objectives within the various business areas.

Key responsibilities for the role include support in the following areas

-HR Advice and Support on all HR issues
-Employment Relations
-Performance Management
-Resourcing
-HR Information
-Payroll/Benefits
-Staff Management- Line management of HR Assistant ensuring regular support and development needs are met and nurtured
-Participating in HR projects as directed by the HR Executive

We are looking for a HR professional with at least 3 to 4 years of operational HR experience in advising managers and staff within a commercial environment. Experience of good HR policies and practices and employment legislation is essential, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of managing and coaching staff.

The role is based on a 35 hr week however there will be extensive travel included to the West of the country i.e. 5 main geographical regions being South West, Nr Bristol, West Mids, North West and Southport. Therefore you must be flexible on travel and ideally be based in the Midlands.
