HR Manager at a Global Law Practice – to £58k

This international law firm are looking for an HR Manager to working in one of their leading client groups of circa 500 employees. The role will include

· The management and development of the Banking & Tax HR team
· Overall responsibility for the communication and management of the performance review process for fee-earners and support staff. To include attendance and active input in fee-earner moderation meetings
· Work closely with Partners and senior support staff to moderate and monitor standards of performance across the practice, including Value Your Time
· Coach fee-earners in how to deliver messages and to handle follow up on agreed actions.
· Advise employees on career paths, promotional prospects and required training
· Play a leading role in supporting development initiatives such as career management meetings and specific development/coaching interventions
· Advise a range of clients on employment issues and apply relevant guidance in a commercial and practical way.
· Monitor under performance, particularly among fee-earners and senior support staff, and take necessary action to resolve issues
· Providing confidential counselling and guidance to individuals.
· Manage the grievance or disciplinary procedures where needed
· Advise staff on all career and flexible working policies and procedures
· Responsibility for working with partners/group heads to produce manpower plans for the individual groups and monitor headcount control closely
· Management of the salary review process, to include presentation to partner groups.
· Working with the HROs to monitor all lawyer movements (leavers, joiners, secondments etc) so that recruitment needs are identified and the necessary support is planned for
· Responsibility for and management of HR budgets.
· Reporting key HR metrics for Managing Partner
· Management and responsibility for the recruitment process within the practice groups.
· Lead and/or participate in key initiatives and processes within Banking & Tax HR, including an active role in driving the partner selection, partner review, and progression to equity processes
· Facilitation of change management and communication of the firm's values
· Driving and participating in specific projects within Banking & Tax HR
· Contributing to management groups including work with the wider HR management team to manage and develop HR delivery across the firm.
