At Hays Human Resources I am currently working alongside our extremely successful and well-known retail client who is currently seeking to recruit a HR Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This could be the perfect opportunity for an established HR Assistant/Co-ordinator that is ready for the next level!  My client is passionate about employee development and will support CPP/CIPD qualifications.  Based in the companies vibrant head office there is free parking on site with a subsidised canteen.  So if you have existing experience within a generalist HR capacity and are ready for the next step this role could be your perfect step!

 

Key Purpose of Role

 

To provide a complete HR service to Head Office and employees.  Responsibilities include recruitment, performance management, grievances, absence management, training, health and safety and other employee relations issues.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Conduct interviews and liaise closely with the HR administrator in co-ordinating recruitment process for Head Office positions, liaising with recruitment agencies on the company PSL.

Advise line managers on performance management matters including disciplinaries and grievances

Monitor cases of sickness absence, liaising with the employee, line manager, doctors and occupational health doctors.  Conducting home visits where necessary.

Update Head Office Structure charts and recruitment chart on a weekly basis.

Deal with all Family Friendly related queries

Co-ordinate the Appraisal process and advise Line managers where necessary

Working closely with the HR Administrator to produce and maintain all HR related paperwork including contracts, disciplinary and sickness related correspondence.

Produce employee related statistical reports e.g. headcount, turnover using HR management system and manual records.

Provide advice on Health and Safety matters, ensuring all accidents are investigated promptly and are compliant with current legislation.

Keep up to date with employment law changes and ensure that they are applied.

Review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation.

Work with other members of the HR department on Company-wide projects.









Job Suitability 



This would suit a confident and professional individual who is a team player but also capable of working on their own initiative. Confident to deal with head office based employees and external contacts.  Calm and adaptable, able to work well under the pressure of working to tight deadlines.  Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both verbal and written.  Able to recommend changes or improvements to working practices.  Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.   Must have the ability to influence line managers.  Tact and diplomacy are essential as the role involves dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information

 

Education/ Qualifications

 

Good standard of education is required.  Experience of using computerised HR systems and producing reports.
