HR Officer - Oswestry
The Ashley Kate Associates Group are recruiting for a HR Officer for Richard Burbidge Ltd
Richard Burbidge Ltd is the UK Market leader in the marketing, distribution and manufacturing of a range of quality timber products for the Home Improvement industry.
The role of HR Officer is to facilitate a culture of performance, results and positive employee relations. The job-holder will have a confident and proactive approach with some training exposure to support a continual improvement environment within operations.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate skills and experience in a range of HR generalist activities, including recruitment and selection, learning and development, performance management, employee relations and employment legislation.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide advice and propose solutions for managers on employment issues such as attendance management, changes to terms and conditions and performance issues
• Ensure effective resourcing in the operations areas using best practice tools including psychometric assessment and testing
• Undertake projects aimed at developing personal and departmental performance
• Implement systems to streamline and reduce admin processes, including development of HR Information Systems
• Report monthly on HR measures and implement improvement initiatives
Key attributes:
• Proven generalist HR experience and able to demonstrate general commercial awareness
• CIPD or with equivalent qualification in HR management and likely to be educated to degree level
• Able to demonstrate experience gained within the manufacturing industry (particularly non-unionised) with solid operational skills across all areas of HR
• Good working knowledge of employment legislation and managing employee relations to achieve continual improvement
• Experience of achieving and sustaining the IiP standard, or similar external benchmark, would be an advantage
• A team player with an open and approachable communication style
• Influencing skills and able to adapt their style to work effectively at all levels

Salary range: £25,000 to £30,000 pa (depending on experience)
