A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a generalist HR Officer to join my client at their Manufacturing location, local to the Trowbridge area. Working in a sole role reporting directly to the UK HR Manager, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive HR service to all the Senior team to ensure that learning, communication, and promotion of skills are a key factor in the company’s development.

The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering a cost-effective HR service of the highest quality to all of the company’s employees. Other duties and key accountabilities will include.

> Provide guidance and support to all managers in relation to the disciplinary and grievance process in line with legislation
> Attend meetings when necessary and take notes
> Interpreting and advising the senior team on employment legislation
> Assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures within their areas of responsibility
> Production of offer letters and contracts of employment for employees
> Provide HR administrative support to the HR Manager when required
> Production of changes/amendments to contracts of employment as required
> Authorise weekly payroll for factory based employment for payroll purposes
> Assistance with co-ordination of recruitment and selection activity for permanent and temporary members of staff
> Liaise with the Occupational Provider on annual charges for Occupational Health Service
> Oversee and arrange ad hoc medicals required with the Occupational Health GP
> In conjunction with senior managers carry out HR induction’s for all new employees joining the business
> Ensure that Performance Management Reviews / Job Charts for all employees are carried out once every year
> Prepare budget training plan on annual basis
The ideal applicant will be CPP qualified and currently working towards the CIPD qualification. You will also have gained experience working within the Manufacturing or distribution industry and have the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the business.
